01. About Me
Soni T.L. is an academician specializing in Economics under the Directorate of Collegiate Education, Government of Kerala. Currently serving as Associate Professor at the Post Graduate Department of Economics, Government College Munnar since August 2023, she is recognized for her pivotal role in promoting student initiatives for sustainability and participatory approaches.
With a profound academic background including an M.Phil in Economics from the University of Calicut and a Ph.D in Economics from Mahatma Gandhi University, Dr.Soni’s research interests encompass Informal Economy, Rural Development, Labour Economics, Fiscal Economics, Environmental Studies, and Sustainable Development.
Her commitment to fostering sustainability among students is evident through her leadership in organizing various programs including workshops and seminars aimed at empowering students to initiate impactful environmental and community projects. She has facilitated over 500 sessions as a resource person, contributing significantly to educational institutions and community organizations.
Dr. Soni has been honored with prestigious awards such as the Indira Gandhi National NSS Award, the State Government Award for Best NSS Programme Officer, Chief Minister’s e-Governance Award for e-learning solutions, and commendations for Good Service from the Government of Kerala, underscoring her dedication to student welfare and sustainable development.
